Sports Recap

Girls Soccer

The Girls Varsity Soccer team ended the season with a 4-5-3 record in the ISL and a 8-6-3 record overall, leaving the team 7th out of 13 in the league. The team has had some impressive wins against the top teams, including Tabor (2nd in the league at the time). The team took on Nobles this past Saturday in an epic battle and was crushed to lose 1-0 in the final minute and 46 seconds.

Girls Field Hockey

The Varsity Field Hockey had a strong season. Out of 19 games, they had 11 wins this season, some against tough Class A competition. On Saturday, the team won Nobles 4-1 on their home turf, and finished 6th in the ISLs.

Football

Football has had a massive turnaround from last subpar year’s 4-4 record. This has included a big 34-21 win against Saint Sebastian’s and a 20-14 overtime win against Governor’s Academy. Three weeks ago, the team managed to overcome a 21-7 halftime deficit against BB&N to win 42-21. On Nobles Day, the team capped off their undefeated championship season by defeating a strong Nobles team 29-14. Tomorrow (11/16), the team hosts the Bill Glennon Bowl Round for the New England Championship against Deerfield Academy on Stokinger Field at 1pm.

Boys Soccer

The Boys Varsity Soccer Team had a very impressive season so far, ending the overall regular season with a record of 13-2-3, and 12-0-3 in the ISL. The two losses were in the very beginning of the season to Andover and Berkshire before Milton was able to make necessary adjustments and hit their stride. The team won the ISL Championship this past weekend on Milton-Nobles day with an over time goal to win the game against Nobles. The team is now 5th seed in New Englands’ and took on the 4th seed Loomis this past Wednesday.

Volleyball

The Girls Varsity Volleyball season was 3-7-0 in the league and 6-14-0 overall, but their record doesn’t show that most of the games the team lost were incredibly close. Although they lost to Nobles this past weekend, they beat Nobles earlier in the season for the first time in ten years.

Hack Soccer

The Hack soccer team, affectionately nicknamed “the squad on the quad”, closed out the season remaining the only undefeated soccer team on campus. Competing in almost 20 “caps,” or games,  this accomplishment is nothing to balk at. Last week, Hack took down Boys’ JV Soccer in a 4-1 victory for the ages. The postseason challenge may continue with an upcoming match against the 4-5-3 Wolfpack.
