Coming back into their eighteenth season of domination, the Patriots have maintained their competitiveness for the 2019-2020 season. Only ten weeks into the season, the Patriots currently have a record of 8-1. With such a dominating record, the New England Patriots have earned their spot as the 1st team in the AFC East conference, and are 2nd in the NFL, right behind the 8-0 San Francisco 49ers. However, the standings only ten weeks into the season are no threat to New England. Going into week eleven of the NFL season, the Patriots will take on the Philadelphia Eagles on the Eagles’ home field.

The New England Patriots should be proud of their overall standings, and we should recognize the heroes of the season that have led the team to their 8 wins. According to ESPN.com, Tom Brady, New England’s quarterback, has led the team in passing yards with a total of 2,536 yards. Currently among the top 10 for passing yards (and 2nd all time), Tom Brady has been working toward maintaining his legacy. For rushing yards, Sony Michel, one of NE’s running back, leads the Patriots with 482 yards so far this season. Julian Edelman, a NE wide receivers, leads the Patriots with a total of 663 receiving yards this season. Jamie Collins Sr., a linebacker, holds the leading tackle record for this season with 48 tackles in nine games. Finally, Devin McCourty, a safety, leads the team with five interceptions for the season.

Luckily, the Patriots have had a pretty healthy start to their season. According to ESPN.com, only two players are currently injured: a tight-end, Matt LaCosse, and a wide-receiver, Gunner Olszewski. LaCosse has been suffering from a knee injury: more specifically an injury to his MCL. Olszewski is suffering from an injury to his ankle. No further information has been released about either injuries. As of right now, both players have been ruled questionable for playing during their week 11 game in Philadelphia this Sunday at 4:25 eastern time. Hopefully New England will continue to have a relatively healthy rest of the season.

Between the overall domination of the Patriots so far this season and the individual accomplishments our players have had, there is no doubt the Patriots will end the year with another successful season. Hopefully NE will stay on track to compete in the 11th consecutive season of play-offs and bring home a seventh ring.
