Molly O’Brien and Nicholas Perricone, Managing Editors

This past year as co-managing editors has been an incredible experience. We were walking buddies in Kindergarten at Milton Academy’s Lower School and it has been fun to reconnect in another role together 13 years later. We had an eventful year managing the editors and even writing a joint opinion article together about Milton’s history courses. We’d like to thank the entire TMP 43 board for letting us manage you during the meetings, especially Vivienne Mockenhaupt ’27. We had a fun year and we hope the entire TMP 43 board enjoyed our humor along the way.

Molly: The past four years at TMP have been some of my favorite experiences at Milton Academy. I started by writing opinion articles before becoming a sports editor in my junior year and eventually managing editor in my senior year. When I first began writing for TMP, I never would have imagined becoming a sports editor or discovering how much I would enjoy writing about sports. Writing for the sports section and being a member of the editorial board the past two years have counted among the highlights of my time at Milton. I’d like to thank Ezra Chen ’27, TMP 43’s sports editor, for letting me write seven sports articles this year. Despite what some of my articles may have suggested, I do not actually hate sports or the Milton athletic office. I would like to thank Nicholas for helping me with my articles this year. Finally, I would like to thank Ms. Baker for always encouraging me to write the hard-hitting articles.

Nicholas - I joined TMP as a sports writer my sophomore year after a lackluster freshman year that saw me joining zero clubs or activities. The week I was contemplating joining the paper, I had just returned from a weekend with my grandmother, and we had been in a coffee shop in Vermont that had a local newspaper on the counter. I had really enjoyed the paper’s journalistic style, so I was swayed in the direction of joining TMP. That little decision made such an impact in my life. From writing for the sports section—something I thought I would never do—to TMP’s wonderful community, I have found being a part of TMP the most rewarding thing I have done at Milton. This past year as a managing editor has taught me how many hands and how much work is required to create something as simply wonderful as each issue of the paper. Thank you to Molly for always letting me know when I missed something (which happened more often than not) in the group chat.

Thank you to the entire Milton community for reading our articles and supporting TMP. To the next group of writers and editors of TMP, keep writing the hard articles, especially the sports ones. We wish everybody the best of luck.

-Your favorite managing editor duo,

Molly and Nicholas
