Farewell, Cristiane

By Adrienne Fung ‘25

Cristiane Narciso is, without a doubt, one of the central pillars of Milton. For four years, she has brightened the days of countless students, faculty, and staff—without so much as stepping out from her regular spot behind the Snack Bar register. From Monday morning smoothies to pre-weekend dance parties, Cristiane has woven her way into the fabric of life at this school. We can’t imagine Milton without her, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end: this Friday, September 27, marks Cristiane’s last day. Here are some of her reflections on her time with us.

Q. How would you describe your experience at Milton?

A. “I don’t want to be cheesy, but this was my dream come true job. I’ve been so happy here working with kids of all ages, and the staff as well. I like to have fun; I like to make people forget about school for a little bit and just come and relax and have something to eat or drink. I’ve gotten involved in everybody’s life, you know, I’ve gotten to know everyone a little bit.”

Q: Where are you headed next?

A: “I’m not sure. I’m going to work on my business, though, that’s for sure. I’m going to try and make it grow, take classes, and learn.” Christiane is starting her own party planning business, providing photo booths and balloon arches at events.

Q: What would you like Milton students to remember after you go?

A:  “Enjoy life to the most. As much as school and life gets tough, just take a moment to breathe and have fun. Be friends with people, because you’ll never know what comes around. And be nice. Respect others, respect your friends, respect your elders, and just remember that life is too short.”

“Most importantly, don’t let nobody ever take advantage of you. Ever. Have common sense, study, be smart, be up front, be quick. Nobody takes advantage of you, nobody abuses you in any way.”

Thank you, Cristiane, for your tireless energy and unconditional care for each of us. Thank you for remembering our names, for always offering us a smile even on the rainiest days. We love you, and we wish you all the best for the future.
