Thank You, Ms. Wood!
By Vivienne Mockenhaupt ’27
After twenty-one years in the registrar’s office, Ms. Liz Wood has made the decision to retire. Always a friendly face in the Office of Student Life, she has “thoroughly enjoyed her time here” at Milton.
Notably, during her career at Milton, Ms. Wood worked on the team that creates student schedules over the summer, merging the requests of over 700 students to somehow make them all fit together. In addition, she provided advice on course scheduling and planning to every Milton student as they attempted to register for new classes each spring, and she “was responsible for making sure that each year [all] students [met] their graduation requirements and [took] the appropriate classes.”
Ms. Wood says that she “will miss interacting and working with the students most of all,” although she has decided to move on from Milton. She states that she has “interacted with so many interesting students, faculty, and staff over the years, but it was time to step away and spend more time with [her] family.”
While she spent her career largely behind the scenes, Ms. Wood’s work has shaped our every day and enabled us to take courses that have changed our lives, fit in a busy and well-rounded Milton experience, and follow our passions through our short time as students. To Ms. Wood: we express our gratitude, and we will miss you!
